Energy Efficient Aeration & Mixing Combined Unit

Oxygen is such a critical element in today’s treatment plant and collection systems. Isn’t it about time you looked at a better way of getting it into your process?  The Oxygenator uses a compact Venturi aspirator to very efficiently inject dissolved oxygen into the fluid passing through it.  Because we are pushing a non-compressible fluid, this process is also a great deal and more energy efficient than conventional aeration systems, not to mention lower in capital costs.  In some regions this energy efficiency qualifies for reimbursement through DOE programs.

The system can be arranged to mix the tank with whatever design you choose.  This design will also not require much maintenance and there are no diffusers in the tank to get fouled.  Further, because our oxygen transfer takes place outside of your tank, maintenance, what little is required, can be done quickly and easily.


In addition to excellent oxygen transfer, this approach offers the following advantages:

  • Kinetic force of the discharge is used for mixing and equalization
  • Adds NO Heat to the process
  • Stripping substances with weak Henry’s constants, e.g. CO2 , Radon and VOCs
  • Oxidizing sulfur-containing molecules, e.g. hydrogen sulfide for effective odor & corrosion control
  • Degassing of gases imbedded in organic materials enhances settling of solids in clarifiers
  • Large amounts of induced DO cause fats, oils, and grease to hydrolyze and float for skimming
  • By stripping CO2 pH is raised allowing for nitrification (pH > 6.8) to begin
  • BOD Reduction, the large amounts of DO immediately allow BOD reduction begin
  • Hydraulic shear of organic materials making them more readily available for microbial digestion

Post Aeration

Because we can saturate the parent fluid in one pass this technology is perfect for aeration prior to discharge into streams where specific DO levels are required.  We can achieve this without use of a tank

Easy to Maintain

Because the aeration equipment(the saturator) is external to the tank, it is easy to access for what little maintenance is required.   This is another reason that this approach lends itself so readily to retrofits or upgrades.
